Student Startups

Since its inception, the Institute for Virtual Enterprise (IVE) has been fostering student engagement in social entrepreneurship and community related projects through its Annual CUNY/IVE Social Entrepreneurship Program as well as its IVE Entrepreneurship Boot Camp. Both programs teach students how to run, manage, and measure the performance of a real company and go through the process of identification of an entrepreneurial idea to actual implementation of their venture. Through the IVE Summer Incubator Program students get access to the resources and funds needed to start their own companies. Orquidea Gender Based Violence Prevention Program - CUNY IVE Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Program 2011 SamrtPitch Event - Gender Based Violence Prevention Program is passionate about fighting domestic violence and bringing legal services to victims in rural areas

Cosiety - CUNY IVE Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Program 2011 SmartPitch - Cosiety is a site dedicated for students looking for a quick and seamless way to post and purchase textbooks online from different sellers and buyers.



Scilliant Scoocle - CUNY IVE Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Program 2011 SmartPitch Event - Scoocle mission is to have a bicycle and scooter sharing program similar to Zipcar. Scoocle will help alleviate heavy traffic in the city, parking congestion, and pollution. In addition it will encourage a healthier New York.

Scilliant Young Governors - CUNY IVE Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Program 2011 SmartPitch Event - Young Governors is a youth organizing program that hires and trains community teens to address issues in their community.
