  Getting Your Project Funded!

On Wednesday May 13, 2009 Catherine and Grace Zinnel, winners of last year's Final Competitive Event, led the Leadership Program's final Leadership Roundtable of the Spring Semester titled " Successful Project Presentations and Pitches". The roundtable was held at Hunter College where fifteen students representing eight CUNY campuses gathered for an evening of learning and discussion.

While participating in the Leadership Program the Catherine and Grace identified, developed and implemented their project: The Hunter College Service Learning Center. In preparation for the 2009 Final Competitive Event, they spoke to the students at the Roundtable about how to successfully present student projects to the panel of judges in the five minutes allotted and get them funded. Catherine Zinnel received a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Special Honors from CUNY Hunter College in May. Grace Zinnel, a sophomore at Hunter College, majoring in Media Studies currently serves as Student Ambassador and Treasurer of Hunter's Circle K International chapter.

Participants of the Final Competitive Event will have the opportunity to compete for prizes and apply for the CUNY/IVE Summer Incubator Program. The Incubator program awards summer stipends and allows students to continue working on their project over the summer.
